Texel cross hogg tops Kirkby Stephen sale at £113.80
More than 1,232 sheep were forward at Kirkby Stephen Mart for the weekly sale of prime and cast sheep.
Topping the sale at £113.80 was a Texel cross Hogg from Messrs Stones, Pepper Hall and was purchased by Dowding’s Butchers, Appleby.
Two fine runs of hoggs sold well, one from Messrs Dawson, Hall Bank, Penrith who averaged £104.10 for 100 hoggs and the second from Messrs Thompson, Whins Farm, Bishop Auckland who sold 95 to average £101.20.
