Third day of Royal Welsh is here
Well after the rain soaked day of yesterday I’m pleased to say that at the moment Builth Wells is enjoying some sunshine, although I suspect it won’t last long.
Today sees the major judging in the dairy, sheep and pig rings with all three sections deciding their interbreed winners today. Alongside that is the sheep pairs competition, as well as the dairy pairs and team of five and the beef paris too.
All in all its set to be a busy last day in Builth for Taking Stock, so check back later to see who’s been lifting the silverware. In the sheep it would be a brave man that bets against Charollais breeder Tim Prichard taking a third interbreed in four years, but Myfyr Evans’ Suffolk could push him close, as could the Bluefaced Leicester champion from Michael James. Time will tell who gets the nod from John Forsyth.
I’d back the Jersey champion to take the dairy award and I’d say the Limousins will continue their run in the beef pairs.
