Twitter chat to take on medicine use

Animal welfare and medicine use will be up for discussion as part of AgrichatUK on Twitter this evening.
Tonight’s debate is entitled “Animal welfare + antibiotics: at what price?” and will take place between 8-10pm.
This will create the ideal platform to discuss a range of topics affecting the UK livestock sector. Areas for debate could include farm animal welfare and how this may be affected by potential changes to medicine use being discussed at government level.
There’s no doubt antibiotics are a crucial component of the toolkit needed for farmers to ensure excellent animal health welfare, however the emphasis must be on responsible use. Failure to use correctly will not only result in unnecessary cost but potentially lead to resistance and limited efficacy.
To join in the discussions, log on to twitter between 8-10pm on 11 April. Follow and join the discussion using the tag #agrichatuk
