Ugie Charolais go to 12,500gns

Jimmy Wilson’s Ugie Charolais herd was dispersed to a top price of 12,500gns when the bull Goldies Banker sold to Neil Barclay for his Harestone herd in Aberdeenshire.

The sale, at Stirling Auction Mart, saw a good trade for females which reached 9000gns.

Sale topper, the 2006-bred Goldies Banker, is by Oldstone Egbert and out of the Killadeas Legend sired Goldies Umble.

The herd’s other stock bull, the 2009-bred Goldies Elation (below), made 10,000gns – also to Neil Barclay. Elation is by Dingle Hofmeister and out of a Blelack dam by Goldies Neptune.

Ugie Erin (below), a 2009-bred cow by Farleycopse Turbo, made 9000gns to J Muirhead, Arbroath. She was sold served by Elation in July.

Ugie Gladys, the May 20211-bred heifer by Banker and out of a Turbo dam, made 6000gns to Boden and Davies, Stockport, Cheshire. She was reserve junior female champion at this year’s Royal Highland Show.

The July-2010 bred Ugie Fiona – by Banker – made 6000gns to Esmor Evans for his Maerdy herd in north Wales and a 7500gns call from Ian Thompson, Ellon, Aberdeenshire secured him the 2008-bred Ugie Diamond. She is by Turbo and in-calf for the autumn to Banker.
