Ugthorpegrange Holsteisn disperse to 1600gns

Well known Yorkshire dairy farmer Geoff Bean dispersed his Ugthorpegrange Holstein herd to a top price of 1600gns on a day that saw a huge crowd compete for cattle descended from many fashionable black-and-white cow families.

Whitby-based milk producers Richard and Heather Thompson made the highest bid to secure Aliann Manat Kitty to add to their Grinkle herd. She gave 9300kg as a heifer and traces back to the successful Canadian import CRF Birch Kitty Ex95.

Upthorpegrange Bordeaux Beatle, due in October with her second, made 1400gns to David Ritchie and Son who rarely miss a sale of cattle in the county. Beatle hails from the influential cow family developed by the late Miss Sybil Edwards in her famous Hemble herd. (Norton and Brooksbank with Cundalls).
