Welsh pigs lead the trade at Beeston
Pedigree pigs sold to a high of 520gns at Beeston Castle last week, with this top bid made for the reserve breed champion in the Welsh, gilt Burry Emma 238 from E W Austin.
This one sold to D A and C L Owens, St Clears, Carmarthenshire, with two litter sisters from
the same home making 490 gns each and both in?pig to Cranerow Workman 3. These were from the Theresa line and sold respectively to D C Houldey, Lockerbie and G I and M Mault, Corwen.
Helen Tongue, Devauden, Chepstow, sold a member of her Daffodil family to the sale’s volume
buyer Joe Hilling?Leigh of Tushingham, Whitchurch for 480gns.
Welsh Boars sold to 430gns for an entry from R A Windsor, Nantwich selling to W D and R E Edwards and son, Oswestry, and Welsh maiden gilts sold to 500gns for a member of the very rare Elenora family consigned by AP Schofield, Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, and selling to B Mulkeen, North Ashton, Wigan.
