White Park cattle hit 2600gns at Maunsel dispersal

White Park and British White Cattle hit 2600gns at the Maunsel dispersal sale at Worcester Market on behalf of Sir Benjamin Slade, Somerset.

Topping trade was Catfield Ginger, a three year old bull by Catfield Drusus and out of a Westbrook Centurion cow selling to volume buyers at the sale R Pitman, Wareham, Dorset.

Cows with calves at foot saw a strong demand selling to 1700gns for Ash Angie with heifer calf by Dynevor Treorchy and secured by Miln Arable, Markfield, Leicester. Also selling quickly was another cow and calf outfit Lowergreen Lark levelling at 1400gns to Banks Farm Partnership, Horam, East Sussex.

British White Cattle were closely followed and peaked at a creditable 910gns for Hevingham Pomme with bull calf to S Wright, Longstanton, Cambridge.

The herd, bred and based on commercial lines was dispersed due to a change in farming policy and was removed from the estate in Somerset to a more central location at the pedigree centre of Worcester.
