Worcester Blonde sale hits 4100gns top call
Commercial buyers made their presence felt at Saturday’s sale of Blonde cattle at Worcester when prices hit a top of 4100gns for a bull from D and M Davies, Fedw Cocoa Cola. This one sold to G L Thomas, Betws-y-Coed, Wales.
First prize winner from the pre-sale show Kinnaston Callum, a Haydens Platinum son from Roy Kinnish took the next top call of 3700gns when he sold to W Cox and Son, Solihull, and another from Mr Kinnish, Kinnaaston Chester. This on is by Hackleton Varig and sold to D Puzey, Beaminster, Dorset, at 3650gns.
Best from David Knight’s Doncombe herd came when Druk Thor-sired Doncombe Cossack sold for 3450gns to A T Williams and Son, Monmouth.
In the females the best sale of 3150gns was for Peter De Giles, Bilsington Cambe which sold to Messrs Phillips of Bockleton, Tenbury Wells, Worcester.
Averages; 20 bulls ÂŁ2827.12, 1 in-calf heifer ÂŁ1890, five maiden heifers ÂŁ1854.30 (McCartneys).
