Worcester EasyCares sell to 1000gns
Taking the top call of 1000gns at Saturday’s sale of EasyCare sheep at Worcester was a shearling tup from R Owen’s Trefri flock, North Wales. This one sold to T W Steele, Pershore.
Selling at 850gns was a shearling ram from H V and M W Thomas, Pentre, which went to James Barton, Market Rabel, Lancashire.
In the females shearling ewes from W D and H J Prosser, Buckinghamshire, led the trade with pens selling at £142, £140 and £128, with all three pens going to H J S Honour, Charlton on Otmoor, Oxford.
Older ewes meanwhile sold to a peak of £130 for pens from T W Steele’s Pershore flock. And in the ewe lambs trade was led by pens from J A Parsons, Isle of Wight, which sold at £127, £125 and £118, with all pens going to Messrs Jones, Kington, Herefordshire.
Averages: 519 flock ewes £118.21; 142 shearling ewes £125.99; 291 ewe lambs £98.53; 130 aged rams £194.05; 16 ram lambs £124.25 ( McCartneys).
