Agritechnica 2011: Anderson inline wrapper

Canadian firm Anderson had an in-line bale-wrapper on display capable of handling both round and square bales.

Four satellite arms apply film and as the machine trundles forward the bales are laid out in a sausage. Completely automated, it works under its own steam thanks to a 13hp Honda petrol engine (or 11hp Kubota diesel) and hydrostatic wheel motors.

It requires no input from the loader driver and is claimed to be able to handle up to 180 bales/hour.

Impressive as it seems, that figure can be further boosted when the wrapper is used in tandem with the company’s Raptor bale-chasers. By reversing up to the sausage-machine’s load deck, the bales are unloaded and wrapped without the need for a loader.
