Agritechnica show cancelled as Covid restrictions bite

Rising covid cases and tightening travel restrictions have forced the cancellation of Agritechnica, the world’s biggest farm machinery exhibition.

It’s the final nail in the coffin for the bi-annual event, which had already been rescheduled to February 2022 from its traditional November slot.

The news will cause headaches for both the show organiser, the DLG (German Agricultural Society), and the near 3,000 companies that were planning to exhibit in Hanover, Germany.

As a result, focus will switch to the Sima event in France which, barring further covid-induced drama, will take place from 6-10 November 2022. As it stands, Lamma is to go ahead at the NEC in Birmingham on 11-12 January.

The next Agritechnica show will be held on 12-18 November 2023.
