French loader specialist MX has been bought by Alo, the Scandinavian firm which owns the Quicke and Trima loader brands.

MX – previously known as Maillieux – builds 7000 loaders a year, 700 of which end up in the UK, sold through importer Chillton.

About 1300 Alo loaders are sold here, so with its latest acquisition, Alo can expect to hold about 50% of the 4000-unit UK market.

Add to that MX’s front linkages and ptos and its position begins to look particularly strong.

Plans remain to keep the brands separate with Chillton continuing as MX’s British distributor.
