Kymco ATV buyers to get free rider training course

Buyers of Kymco ATVs qualify for a free training course now that the manufacturer is supporting the European ATV Safety Institute (Easi).

Normally costing £180 (ex VAT), the ATV RiderCourse teaches safe riding techniques for quads and covers topics from safety clothing and protective equipment to pre-ride inspections, risk assessments and environmental issues.

The equivalent SBS DriverCourse for UTVs takes half an hour longer, at five hours, but costs the same, and Easi also supplies coaching and qualifications for ATV trainers and instructors.

Both courses are designed for individuals and for employers who need to meet their health and safety obligations under Puwer regulations by providing basic training on machines used by employees, says Amy Morris, UK regional operations manager at Easi.

“We have 52 trainers nationwide and 30-40 courses a month for a maximum of eight participants, so there is plenty of capacity,” she says.

Kymco joins seven other Easi supporters – BRP with its Can-Am products, CFMoto, Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris, Suzuki and Yamaha. Course details are on the quadsafety.org website.
