Little-known Taiwanese ATV maker SMC has launched a new 675cc machine that might appeal to shoppers on a budget.

The brand has only been marketed under its own name in the UK for a year, having agreed a deal with Leicestershire-based distributor Dualways.

The latest addition to the range – the 51hp Max 700 – brings a pretty generous spec within the asking price of £5,415.

Power comes from a four-stoke, single-cylinder 675cc engine that runs through a stepless transmission with two forward ranges. Two- and four-wheel drive is selectable and power steering is also part of the package.
