Yamaha refines Kodiak ATV’s electric power steering

Instead of one consistent level of assistance for all situations, the new setup automatically varies the amount of help it gives the rider according to speed and riding conditions.

The “intelligent” system is both torque- and speed-sensitive, so it should make guiding a Kodiak along a smooth, grassy surface, through a rutted gateway and across humps and hollows a more confident and less tiring experience.
Yamaha’s new EPS system is installed on the 686cc Kodiak 700 EPS and 421cc 450 EPS utility-spec models, and also on the more leisure orientated Grizzly 700 EPS XT-R.
This is available in a new “titanium bronze” colour scheme alongside the more subdued “moss grey”, both paired with “tactical black” elements.
The XT-R includes 14in cast wheels shod with 27in Maxxis Zilla deep treaded tyres, adjustable gas shock absorbers and hydraulic disc brakes.
All three quads feature heavy-duty steel cargo racks and manual selection of two- and four-wheel drive, and the differential lock.
