Case IH unveils updated LB4 big balers for 2013

Case IH has a new range of big balers for 2013. Called the LB4 range, they are close relatives of the New Holland BigBaler range and sport quite a few new features.

The four-model range comprises the LB324 (80cm x 70cm), LB334 (80cm x 90cm), LB424 (120cm x 70cm) and LB434 (120 x 90 cm).

Composite synthetic materials have been used for the body panels to save weight and reduce the amount of dust that enters the baler.

Also, the whole front section of the body can now be opened upwards to provide access to all drives for maintenance and servicing.

The new pickup has a 2.4m working width and a swath windguard that works with an extra intake auger and central feed roller to give speedy material transfer.

A revised layout has resulted in faster straight-line crop flow within the baler, says the company, helping speed up transfer from pickup to the pre-compression chamber. Plunger speed has been increased to 48 strokes a minute to provide the higher capacity.

A GPS logger is available for recording bale moisture and a bale weighing system can be used for complete bale documenting.

There are also two ejection options. The standard bale ejector empties the chamber, which opens wide for easier removal.

The additional partial bale ejector ejects only the finished bale while keeping the next incomplete bale in the chamber, allowing the bale chute to be folded away for transport.
