Cereals 2009: Tonutti’s Quasar no-till drill heading this way

Sunshine Machinery was due to show the interesting-looking Italian-made Tonutti Quasar no-till drill at Cereals, but it didn’t arrive in time. However, Sunshine’s Paul Allen says he plans to have machines out on demo in the UK this autumn.

The Quasar comes in 3m, 4.5m and 6m widths with hopper capacities of 1700 litres, 2200 litres and 3000 litres, respectively. It also has an unusual Collovati Opener wide-winged (22-30cm) tine that drops seed in two rows within a horizontal slot, with the option of fertiliser being dropped between them. Prices range from €33,073 to €65,305.

Sunshine also says there was considerable interest in Tonutti’s substantial-looking €26,000 Cyclon LD 8m straw harrow.
