Claas removes wraps from vineyard tractor range

A NEW RANGE of vineyard tractors is now available from Claas. Sourced from Italian manufacturer Agritalia, the Nectis range comprises four models – the 68hp 227, 83hp 247, 90hp 257 and the 101hp 267.

All are powered by engines produced from the new Iveco/Cummins joint venture with the 68hp having a three-cylinder block and the other three employing four cylinders.

Transmissions comprise as standard a mechanical three-range, 12F/12R box complete with a mechanical reverser. Options extend to include a 24F/24R Twinshift transmission with an electro-hydraulic splitter within each of the four gears.

An ability to make tight headland turns is a necessary requisite for a vineyard tractor and, on this score, the Nectis has an indented engine chassis to allow the front wheels to be angled more steeply. Three cylinder models have a turning circle of 3.45m and the four cylinder, 3.65m.

In the pto department, Nectis is supplied with groundspeed, 540 and 540 Eco speeds, and its hydraulic linkage has a lift capacity rated at 3138kg.

Prices for Claas Nectis tractors have yet to be confirmed.
