Amazone pulls wraps off new 7m shallow tine cultivator

Amazone has launched a newly designed Cobra shallow tine cultivator. Available in 6m or 7m working widths, it sports six beams and eight rows of Eco leaf spring tines, spaced a little over 13cm apart.
Thanks to the vibration of the leaf springs, Amazone says the Cobra creates a fine tilth across the whole width of the machine. This means it can turn its hand to several tasks, including shallow stubble cultivation and a second or third pass at greater depth.

The tines can be equipped with either narrow points or “duck foot-shaped” attachments, and depth control can be manually operated from the cab up to a maximum of 13cm. This is managed by forward-mounted support wheels and a rear packer roller that helps to maintain an even ground pressure.
An optional front knife roller can also be fitted for chopping rape stubbles or helping to incorporate catch crops. This has double cutter blades arranged in a V shape and hydraulic pre-tensioning of the roller so that it adapts to different soil conditions.
Alternatively, buyers can spec a front crush board for chopping clods and levelling the surface.
At the rear, there’s the option of another levelling board and the choice of nine rollers or a straw harrow. It can also be fitted with a Greendrill 501 for establishing catch- and cover crops.
Prices for the 6m model start at £66,725, and the 7m version is available from £70,335.
