New 6-7.6m Highlanders extend Kuhn’s tine cultivator range

Kuhn’s latest tine-based stubble cultivator will offer buyers more choice in terms of working depth and horsepower requirement.
The new Highlander is designed to operate between 3cm and 20cm deep to put it neatly between the 3-12cm of the Prolander and 7-35cm of the Cultimer.

It is available in working widths of 6m and 7.6m, with four rows of redesigned tines spaced at 208mm.
These can be fitted with 50mm, 35/65mm or 30/80mm carbide points, or forged steel options of 60mm or 80mm.
Adding 280mm wings ensures soil is disturbed across the entirety of each pass.
Tines are free to move laterally by up to 10cm, so their first instinct is to shift sidewards around an obstacle rather than trigger the break-back mechanism, which is set at 350kg.
Optional front pre-cutting discs are available to improve the implement’s ability to deal with high residue situations, and levelling blades or disc can also be specced to produce a tidier finish.
Depth is set on the Highlander’s transport wheels, and up to eight front gauge wheels and a floating drawbar extension can be fitted to improve contour following on shallow work.
At the rear, there’s the option of a triple harrow, a double U roller where more consolidation is required, or nothing at all if soil is to be left open until spring.
List prices of the 6m version start at £62,424.
