Simba is showing its new TL tined cultivator at AgriScot this week.

The TL is a linkage-mounted cultivator designed primarily for use on lighter soils and is aimed at growers with rotations that include a proportion of root crops and vegetables. It has three rows of spring-reset cultivating tines that can work up to 300mm deep to incorporate large volumes of trash, such as potato haulm or the remains of field vegetables.

The 3m version has 10 cultivating tines, while the 3.5m version has 12 tines. Both have 300mm spacing between tines and 900mm between tines on the same row. There’s a choice of 540mm open cage roller or a set of 550mm DD Lites.

A 3m machine with cage roller weighs 1.75t and needs 120hp-200hp. A 3.5m model with the same roller weighs 2t. Prices range from £11,495 for a TL300 with cage roller to £16,445 for a TL350 with DD Lite roller.
