Czech outfit SMS CZ has doubled its range of light disc cultivators with the addition of three tractor-mounted models between 4m and 6m wide.

The trio of Ontarios – 400H, 500H and 600H – extend the mounted range well beyond the 3m Ontario 300 and serve as cheaper alternatives to the existing 500 and 600 trailed versions.

Their introduction brings several technical improvements aimed at increasing work efficiency and improving trash flow through the implement.

For starters, clearance under the frame and between the soil working components has been increased to reduce the risk of bung-ups.

And there’s now the option of upgrading the standard 510mm discs to 560mm, with their geometry tweaked to offer a more aggressive working angle.

Depth is adjusted hydraulically to a maximum of 120mm.

Among the modest range of accessories is an APV seeding unit to sow cover crops, and levelling boards for the 500H and 600H models.
