Sumo Trio gets changes for 2009

Changes to the popular Sumo Trio from York company SW Agriservices include a fully-removable disc unit that effectively turns the machine into a shallow subsoiler with low surface disturbance. That makes it ideal for sowing oilseed rape in just one pass, says the company.
There is now also a full 3m working width on the mounted Trio 3.0m that allows the machine to work to tramline widths, especially when sowing oilseed rape.
The 3m and 3.5m units can now also be converted to a trailed machine by adding a drawbar that pins on to the standard cat 3 linkage and a hydraulic ram (with depth adjustment via shims) that lifts the machine out of work. The trailing chassis mounts to the Trio frame by four bolts, with the 480mm wide tyres positioned at the rear.
Sumo has also incorporated a new scraper design which is said to require 15% less power in wet, sticky conditions.
The Multipacka has undergone changes, with the packer rings now spaced at 250mm centres to close the slot left by the subsoiler legs on the Trio 3.0m.
