Danish Agromek show: Kyndestoft builds a fibreglass sprayboom
Danish company Kyndestoft is well known for its air-assisted sprayers, which blow air through holes in the bottom of a full-width bag to help push spray into the crop.
In the past these have been used with otherwise-conventional booms, however it has now announced a rigid fibreglass boom version. This still does the job of the bag, but it’s apparently 10kg/m lighter than a convention metal boom and the sections can telescope into each other to minimise transport width.
The company says the fibreglass is very robust, but if you do catch a tree or electricity pole, there’s a 2m (6ft 6in) breakback at each boom tip.
