Davies new agri-food boss

ARWYN DAVIES has been appointed agri-food director at the Welsh Development Agency.
Currently working as the Agency‘s head of agri-food development, Mr Davies will be responsible for the implementation of the Wales Agri-food Strategy for the red meat, dairy, organic farming, horticulture and aquaculture sectors.
Before joining the WDA Mr Davies spent three years as chief executive of Wales Young Farmers Clubs, and he is known to be keen on encouraging young people to develop new farm based agri-food enterprises.
“I am really looking forward to taking up this new challenge, working with the industry and with public sector partners to continue to develop the agri-food sector in Wales,” Mr Davies said.
