Italian tractor maker Same Deutz-Fahr says it plans to revive the Same brand and has kicked off its campaign with the introduction of a new range of small-to-medium tractors.
Same is a well-known and well-respected brand in many markets and has a long history. However it has been Deutz-Fahr that has received the greatest attention in the marketing stakes.
That policy seems to have changed, though, and the latest addition to the Same range will not be available in Deutz-Fahr colours.
The new Same Virtus tractors include the Virtus 100 (99hp), Virtus 110 (110hp) and Virtus 120 (122hp). All three are said to have good power-to-weight ratios – the 122hp Virtus 120, for example, has a power-to-weight ratio of 38.5kg/hp.
Power comes from Deutz four-cylinder, electronically managed commonrail engines. Exhaust gas recirculation combined with a filter and catalytic converter mean the tractors meet Tier 4i emissions regulations.
A 30+30 powershift transmission provides a top speed of 50kph and a working range from 2.9-16kph.
Automatic front-wheel drive and diff-lock management are standard, as are four pto speeds of 540/540E/1,000/1,000E plus a ground-speed pto.
SDF’s hydraulic shuttle and stop&go system allows you to control tractor forward and reverse movements using only the brake pedals without touching the clutch pedal.
You can also choose either a sharper or softer response from the shuttle.
Hydraulic power comes in at 90 litres/min and the rear linkage has a lift capacity of 6,600kg.
The tractor also has a Steering Double Displacement (SDD) system, which allows the operator to halve the number of steering wheel turns required to achieve maximum lock. Front suspension is an option.
