Diablo diesel quads set for comeback
DIABLO DIESEL quads are set to make a return to the UK in early 2005.
Previously marketed by Anglesey-based GHL, the original Diablo used a 16hp Lombardini diesel engine.
Models produced during the mid-1990s included the two-wheel drive Scorpion and Stigma. But the lack of a four-wheel drive version proved to be problem in marketing the bikes for the manufacturer.
4wd option
In a bid to capture a slice of the fledgling diesel ATV market, a new company – Diesel Quads – has announced the launch of a 4WD Diablo bike, which should be available early next year.
Fitted with a 25hp three-cylinder Yanmar 854cc diesel engine, the new bike is claimed to be extremely economical and is suited to run on agricultural-grade diesel, a sure benefit for farm users.
Retailing at ÂŁ6495, the new Diablo is manufactured completely in the UK and will be on display at the Smithfield Show from Dec 2 to Dec 5.
