Easy rider from McCormick
The largest of McCormick”s four-cylinder tractors – the 115hp MC115 (pictured) – can now be ordered with independent front axle suspension.
Like its larger stablemates, the tractor uses a Carraro axle with wishbones and gas accumulators to cushion the ride. This set-up gives 45mm of suspension travel up or down from normal ride-height.
Drivers can adjust height from the cab and lock out the system for tasks where the front axle needs to held rigid – working with a front-loader, for example.
Aside from the obvious comfort advantages, the system is said to increase stability when travelling at speed, contribute to traction in the field and cushion both tractor and implement from shockloads. Front axle suspension adds 3018 to the price of the tractor.
