New Holland hopes to emulate the popularity of the Ford 8N-inspired retro-styled ‘Boomer’ tractor in North America.

“Two years ago at EIMA we showed a styling exercise reminiscent of the Fiat 640 of the 1980s and it received a lot of attention and acclaim from farmers and dealers in Italy,” said Barbara Prossen of New Holland. “We think farmers will be interested to own something that, in appearance at least, reflects a part of our heritage and is very distinctive among today’s tractors.”

Body panels on the open platform New Holland F480 are finished in bright Fiat orange and fitted over a brown-painted chassis with white wheels. The model number badge offset on the front grille emulates the Fiat badge of old, as do the side panel decals.
