Even woodland neds an IACS field number

ALL LAND, including woodland and scrub, will have to have an IACS field number to count under the Entry Level Scheme, says John Hartwright of Laurence Gould”s Newmarket office.

With the possibility that the scheme will open in February/March, growers can almost count on application forms being issued at a date which leaves them very little time to gather the information they will need, he warns.

“There is a lot they can be doing now at a relatively quiet time to prepare information – get maps sorted out, register unregistered fields and measure hedgerow lengths.

“Also examine woodland margins, because where these are on field edges there will be enhanced points for managing those boundaries.”
