Extendable 12m arms for Harso slurry injector
Danish firm Harso has developed a trailed slurry injector that offers similar working widths to your average dribblebar set-up.
Launched at last month’s Agromek show in Denmark, the 10t prototype injector can cover 24m with two tramline passes. The first pass sees the two 6m sections cover the 12m width directly behind the main frame. For the second pass the frame sections slide outwards to an extended position to work the ground 6-12m either side of the tramline.
According to the company, the advantage of this is less weight and fewer coulters. There are 40 500mm coulters in total, geared to run at half of forward speed to make a clear slit along the ground without picking up residues. Depth control can be adjusted according to the amount of slurry being placed and the type of soil/crop that is being worked on.
The two distribution heads can be shut off individually and a three-cylinder, 30hp on-board engine provides the power. The trailed unit is attached by a connecting pipe to the slurry tanker in front. Once the tank is empty the unit can be left in the field while the tractor refills.
In-field travel speed is about 12kph and the system can cover up to 20ha/hour. The injector costs almost £109,000.
