Kent dealer takes on trench-cutting Dondi rotary ditchers
© TF Wheatley Kent-based dealer TF Wheatley has sold its first rotary ditchers after agreeing an import deal with Italian manufacturer Dondi.
The range includes versions designed to be mounted on a hedgecutter or excavator arm, giving buyers more reach when carving a trench that can be up to 65cm deep with a 30deg wall.
For farms with better access to drainage channels, a three-point linkage-mounted setup may suffice.

This is still capable of stretching 2.4m from the centre of the tractor, will work down to 77cm and has an adjustable wall angle of 30-45deg.
Both derivatives fling debris only to the right, meaning they can safely operate along the edge of a road or track.
Dondi also builds central excavation ditchers that cut a trough directly behind the tractor.
The heavy-duty option comes with two carving wheels for permanent installations that are 55-140cm deep with an 18-42deg wall.
Alternatively, there’s a mono-wheel format that can be used to slice temporary, shallow drainage channels to get surface water off fields.
These are the cheapest in the Dondi range – a linkage-mounted DMR.25B comes in at £6,000.
