Amazone makes soil-engaging parts choice easier for farmers

Amazone has introduced a new parts range naming scheme to more clearly differentiate between regular items and those with enhanced wear characteristics.

“Original” identifies parts that meet Amazone’s minimum quality standards, whether produced in-house or from suppliers, while “Original HD” covers items reinforced with a hard metal coating.

These include tines for rotary cultivators and the disc vanes on fertiliser spreaders, with the special coating extending service life by up to 300%, according to the manufacturer.

For the most demanding applications, soil-engaging components such as cultivator points and plough shares are given the “Original HD pro” classification, being the most resistant to wear.

Despite being subjected to abrasive heavy or stony soils, these parts are said to last up to 800% longer than the basic items thanks to special manufacturing process and tungsten carbide plates applied to the underlying component.

Amazone says the clearer identification will help users decide the level of performance they want to suit different priorities.
