TrimVale Firewood Processor makes logging a one-person job
Suitable for mounting on a telehandler, tractor loader or digger, TrimVale’s all-in-one Firewood Processor promises to make log cutting a simple one-person task.
Timber is loaded by crowding the unit forward and using the built-in tines to flick the log onto the bed. A grab then holds it in place, ready for a hydraulically operated saw to cut it to the desired length.
A six-way blade – four- and eight-way versions are also available – then splits the wood into perfectly sized pieces.

Power is provided by the host vehicle’s hydraulics, with an in-cab electronic control box used to manage each of the functions.
The largest Pro Plus version can process 4-9cu m of timber an hour and deal with logs up to 45cm in diameter. For trunks larger than this, the firm offers a screw splitter to quickly reduce them to more manageable sizes.
Compact option
Designed for smaller loaders and skid steers, the Pro Compact model can chomp through 3.5-5cu m an hour of timber up to 40cm in diameter.
Both have fairly sophisticated electric controls, while for those who like to keep things simple, the Pro Compact Classic comes with only the basics to get the job done.
All can accommodate timber lengths of 3m as standard, with a longer 4m table available as an option.
The processors are built in the Netherlands by manufacturer BTD Technics and are available through three dealers – Trim Vale Machinery in County Armagh, PJ Gaul in Aberdeenshire and B Price Mus-Max in Shropshire.
Pro Compact versions are priced at £20,600, with the Pro Plus coming in at £23,300.
