All of the company’s 300, 400, 700, 800 and 900-series machines are now equipped with electronically-controlled Deutz common-rail engines.

The line-up now stretches from 95hp to 360hp and experiences a number of reshuffles with most ranges receiving a power upgrade.

Most significant changes appear with 400-series tractors which have been upgraded to ensure they are clearly differentiated from the recently released Vario 300s.

Fendt bills the latest 114hp to 154hp Vario 400s as having the power and sophistication of its six-cylinder tractors but with the light weight and manoeuvrability of a four-cylinder machine.

300-series tractors are labelled as more simple, less sophisticated machines.

Fendt forager future?

The German tractor manufacturer has also revealed that as part of its role in the Agco corporation – which also owns Massey Ferguson, Challenger, Valtra and Hesston – its design engineers are working on a high-horsepower self-propelled forage-harvester. A move which is hoped will allow the company to take advantage of the rapidly growing European biomass market.
