Fife police seek stolen tractor

FIFE CONSTABULARY‘S stolen vehicle squad is seeking the help of the public in tracing a stolen tractor worth £18000.

The tractor, a Ford New Holland 7740 model with the registration number N839DSR, was stolen between 5pm on Friday (Apr 30) and 7am on Saturday (May 1).

It was taken from New Droverhall Farm, Inverkeithing Road, Crossgates. The thieves broke into a shed in order to steal the tractor.

The vehicle had a black Quicke front loader and rear Amazone chemical boom sprayer attached.

“There has been a recent trend of tractor thefts in the western area of Fife,” said a police spokesman.

“I would take this opportunity to warn the farming community of Fife to take precautions with their agricultural machinery, which there is obviously a growing ‘black‘ market for.”

The spokesman said the public could assist the stolen vehicle squad, by supplying any pieces of information they may be aware of, in relation to stolen agricultural vehicles.

“When a large item of plant was stolen and recovered in Ireland recently, a large amount of information was forthcoming from the public which greatly assisted the Squad with their investigations,” he added.

Anyone with any information should contact Fife Police on 01592 251111 or people can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Callers may be eligible for a reward.
