Rollant extends small baler range for Claas

CLAAS” RANGE of Rollant fixed chamber balers has been extended with the introduction of a new model.

The new Rollant 254RC fills the gap in the range for farmers and smaller contractors who require a less expensive baler with a crop-chopping unit.

Previously the smallest baler available with a chopper was the 255RC.

16 star shaped double tines mounted on a roller in a spiral configuration form the basis of the chopper unit. Fed by the 2.1m wide pick-up, this forces the crop through a bank of 14 spring-loaded stationary knives.

Hydraulically retracted when not required, the blades produce an average chop length of 70mm, according to Claas.

With a power requirement of 90hp the 245RC costs 20,395.
