TerraDrive driven axle boosts grip for McHale Fusion 4 baler

For those who find their McHale Fusion 4 a hard beast to handle on challenging terrain, there’s now the option of buying one with a hydraulic driven axle.

The TerraDrive system bolts in place of the regular axle and, when connected to an Isobus-compatible tractor, will automatically engage and disengage while working on steep slopes.

Automatic speed matching between it and the tractor ensures that the two work in unison, rather than fighting against one another.

Grip and flotation are improved further thanks to the fitment of Vredestein VF710 tyres rather than the usual 560s.

The system is pictured here fitted to the maker’s Fusion 4 Plus machine, which comes with a 2.1m pick-up, 25-knife feed rotor and the option of net or film binding.
