Kverneland adds to ROC swath merger range with 9.2m model

Fans of using a reel-and-belt merger rather than a rotary tine rake to bring spread-out or swathed grass into a single row will note the addition of a further model to the ROC line-up distributed by Kverneland.

At up to 9.2m, the trailed RS 920 slots into the range between the 7-7.3m RS 730 and the 10m RS 1000, while complementing the narrower front- or rear-mounted versions.

The newcomer is also a variable working width merger in the sense that the two 3.65m-wide pick-up reel and traversing belt assemblies can operate apart – resulting in maximum grass collection width and a swath formed at the centre – or in closed-up formation to shift grass wholly to the left or right.

Compared with its predecessor, the RS 920 has an all-new frame, improved suspension and a larger opening at the centre of the frame for greater central swath clearance, says Kverneland.

There is independent speed adjustment for the hydraulically driven reels and belts, and the machine can be worked with one side deployed while the other remains in the vertical transport position.
