Pottinger adds Isobus automation to simple Top VT grass rake

Isobus automation and other handy electronic control features are now available on Pottinger’s otherwise “simple spec” four-rotor grass rake.

In standard form, the Top VT 12540 C offers 10-12.5m of working width from a machine that is both shorter and lighter than the full-spec Top 1252 C.

But now it can be upgraded for tech-minded farmers and contractors with the Profiline “comfort” control system available through an isobus terminal.

This brings the facility to lift any rotor individually with a tap of the screen – to clear an obstacle, for example – and in “wedge” mode, lifting a left- or right-hand front rotor will automatically trigger the corresponding rear rotor to raise after a pre-set delay.

Alternatively, an isobus setup with section control can be used to automate the whole headland lifting and lowering procedure.

Another neat feature when cornering is the way the lead rotor on the inside of a turn is tucked in to ensure sufficient front-to-rear overlap is maintained to avoid leaving unraked grass on the ground.

As an option, rotor height can be adjusted by electro-hydraulic control from the cab – either individually or all four at a time – along with the Multitast leading jockey wheel system if fitted.

Finally, getting the Top VT rake from working to transport configuration involves just a single button press to retract, raise and lock the rotors in position – and vice versa when arriving in the field.
