Selected optional equipment is being included as standard on a limited run of Massey Ferguson Next Edition combines.

All told, MF says Activa S and Beta Next Edition buyers get £5,000 worth of additional kit, while larger growers purchasing an Ideal benefit to the tune of £13,000. The quid pro quo for MF’s largesse is that orders must be placed by 31 October.

The packages applying to Activa S and Beta straw walker machines and Ideal single- and twin-rotor harvesters add features that contribute to performance and operator comfort.

For the 260hp five-walker 7300 S models, the free “performance pack” comprises a chaff spreader, electric sieve adjustment and tailings monitoring so that operators can adjust settings on the move, and MF Connect telemetry with a five-year subscription.

This upgrade is shared with the 306hp and 360hp five-walker MF 7300 Betas, but there are differing “comfort pack” contents across these machines.

The Activa S models get an in-cab fridge, additional work lights, a wide-angle mirror, a screen and twin-camera “vision kit”, and a high-specification DAB radio with MP3 and Bluetooth compatibility.

Equivalent upgrades for the Beta combines include additional work lights as part of an LED lighting package, an extra remote view camera and the radio/MP3 installation.

The MF Ideal Next Edition packages feature an integral air compressor for easier blowing down away from the yard and a full complement of LED work lights that include lamps at the rear axle.

More adjustments than are possible on a standard Ideal – such as cutting table angle, selection of “chop or drop” straw management and chaff spreader and straw deflector settings – can be made from the cab, where there are further upgrades.

The connectivity pack comprises Agco’s PTx Auto-Guide guidance with automatic headland turn functions, MF TaskDoc Pro for automated task planning and recording, and wireless data exchange between the combine and farm office.

MF Connect telemetry is also included, which enables remote access to the combine’s location and status, and authorised dealer remote fault diagnosis and service monitoring.
