The latest 30A Hypertherm Powermax 30 Air plasma cutter from Foster Industrial is a relatively light (13.5kg) handheld plasma system with built-in air compressor.

It can quickly cut metal grate or rusted metal without retriggering with a continuous pilot arc and uses one tool to cut a variety of metal types and thicknesses. It is also said to be rugged enough to cope with tough environments.

At the maximum recommended output of 20A, the cut capacities are 3mm at 762mm/min, 6m at 355mm/min and 10mm at 125mm/min. Price is £1,850
