John Deere’s 7950i forager at Scotgrass

The 7950i forager is the most powerful machine John Deere has ever produced, putting out 812hp from a single 19-litre Cummins powerplant.
With new header options, the 7950i features a longer chassis and a stronger rear axle and is aimed at contractors cutting heavy crops in ever-diminishing weather windows. A new, heavy duty final drive gives 23% more header lift capacity and the transmission’s been beefed up to match the increase in power.
Also on the JD stand was its new 630C grass pick-up. The redesigned driveline has two heavy-duty chains to enable longer chop length and the whole unit now has the same lateral tilt system used on the larger 4m and 4.5m machines, as well as a new crop compressor roller.
