Knight’s ‘trail-blazing’ sprayer

A sleeker liquid tank shaped to improve stability and reduce axle loading features on the Trailblazer sprayer design due to make its debut at the LAMMA show.

Knight Farm Machinery says these objectives have been met without increasing the overall length of the Trailblazer 3600 and 4200 trailed machines, which would have impinged on the manoeuvrability provided by the steering axle.

The new roto-moulded polyethylene tank structure also has the novel feature of two separate wash tanks, which the company says increases the flexibility of washing-out procedures.

Containers are rinsed over a chemical induction hopper with twin washing nozzles fitted as standard to tackle all shapes and sizes of container, as well as all types of residues, and there are drain supports to keep rinsed containers upright while they empty.

The induction/rinsing assembly is located inside a locker alongside external controls; on the opposite side of the machine, valves are similarly protected behind a tough GRP cover.

Fitting a hydraulically operated parking stand seems a sensible move gven the size and weight of the sprayer, which as the model numbers suggest, comes in 3600-litre and 4200-litre sizes, with booms up to 40m. Air brakes and air suspension are available but a MŸller GPS-ready controller ensures the operator has access to a full set of functions as standard.
