LAMMA 10: Low hp direct drill from John Dale

Usually, direct drilling is reserved for farmers with plenty of hp to play with, but Lincolnshire-based John Dale Drills has come up with a low-hp alternative for this year’s show.

The aptly named Eco-Drill can be used to both direct drill or to drill into conventional seed beds, and the company claims that the 6m version needs just 120hp to pull it.

Fitted with Accord metering units and an RDS control system as standard, there’s plenty of clearance between tines for trash flow and variable row spacing from 12.5cm.

Available in five widths of 3m (which takes just 60hp to pull) to 10m (200hp requirement) prices for the 6m version shown here start at £48,000.
