LED Agrilamp cuts lighting costs by 90%

Glo Agrilamp from Buckingham company Greengage Lighting claims to be the first LED bulb designed for the egg and broiler sectors.
Rated at 4W, it replaces a 25W tungsten filament lamp and claims to reduce lighting energy consumption by 90%. It was developed and tested with egg producer Noble Foods, which says it made the birds calmer.
It costs £16 a bulb and lasts for 25,000 hours. It is also fully dimmable and reduces heat output by 50%.
