Grass equipment specialist Lely used the Grassland & Muck Event to gauge reaction to a new range of silage trailers before deciding whether to make them available to British farmers and contractors.

There are two lines – one is a dropside three-way tipper with up to three longitudinally-ribbed panels giving sufficient height for hauling silage. The other is a monocoque half-pipe bodied range with optional 600mm silage extensions.

A four-stage hydraulic cylinder tips the body on wide-spaced pivots beyond 50deg and there is a high-clearance tailgate to welded to the galvanised chassis. Sprung tandem axles and a sprung drawbar complete the key specifications.
