New Bobcat offers greater performance and cleaner engine emissions

Bobcat, the name most synonymous with skid-steer loaders, has launched a new model featuring improved performance and a Tier IV engine.

At just under a metre wide and less than two metres high the S70 is capable of negotiating the smallest of gateways, alleys or aisles. At 2.5m long it is capable of turning around in most places too.

The S70 completes a range extending to seven machines, while the large range adds a further two models to the skid-steer line up.

The solid construction and versatility of skid-steer loaders makes them a favourite in a variety of disciplines from construction to landscape gardening. As a consequence the market is fiercely competitive.

To comply with European legislation the 22hp Tier IV-compliant engine, supplied by Kubota, is claimed to run cleaner with 50% lower particle emissions.

Productivity is increased by 10% through improved cycle times leading to faster bucket roll back and bucket dump functions.

The burden of routine maintenance tasks is also claimed to be easier following a re-design of the rear-end which allows for quicker, smoother access to the oil dipstick and filter points.

Over 20 attachments are available for use with the S70, including breaker, dumper, dozer, blade, scrapper, sweeper, trencher, auger and backhoe.
