RapidLift retrofit subsoiler for Vaderstad Rapid
Vaderstad Rapid drills can now be fitted with a retrofit sub-soiling toolbar thanks to Cultivating Solutions.
Adding soil loosening tines to the Rapid enhances an already versatile machine, says Richard Scholes, of the company. “And offering them as a retrofit option means growers don’t have to buy another machine.”
Legs are designed to work at a maximum depth of 300mm, after which a band is created in the path of the low-disturbance leg where the seed can be placed, fertiliser applied and slug pellets administered, all in one pass. It also means that rape can be drilled in 500mm spacings, and liquid fertiliser can be applied at the same time.
The machine shown here was ordered from the company by Sentry Farms, who were keen to make better use of their existing Vaderstad Rapid drills, in this case for drilling oilseed rape. Although it’s in prototype form and fitted with an Obico toolbar, it will be commercially available next year and the sub-soiling toolbar will be made in-house by Cultivating Solutions.
