Renault colours go out of fashion

RENAULT TRACTORS will no longer be available in their familiar orange colour-scheme it was announced on Friday (July 2).

Following the acquisition of Renault Agriculture last year by Claas, the Le Mans-built tractors will now be sold in the UK in the German manufacturer‘s green and red livery.

From Oct 1 Renault‘s UK operations will be merged with Claas UK at Saxham, Suffolk.

All Renault dealers have had their contracts terminated and less than half have been offered a Claas franchise to plug the gap.

The tractors will be marketed by all existing Claas dealers and the company insists that this will not affect any existing tractor franchises that these dealers might have.

Dealers may well disagree with this viewpoint, especially as many Claas franchises currently market Valtra tractors – conflicts of interest are bound to develop.
